Your language. Your speakers. Your deck.

Turtle Cards, made with your community. We build a custom edition of our card game in your dialect, with your fluent speakers’ voices built in.

The same game, in your words

Ataage Agindaasonan was our first edition. It plays like Crazy Eights, so anyone can pick it up.

A Community Edition keeps the game your learners already know and fills it with your community’s words, spelling and voices.

No two communities speak exactly the same way. Your edition should sound like home.

What’s included

  • A custom card deck in your dialect and spelling system
  • Your speakers’ audio in a digital companion, linked from every deck by QR code
  • Bonus phrases, digital rules and difficulty modifiers for different learner levels
  • A print run of 100 decks or more
  • Facilitator materials for classrooms and programs
  • Optional facilitator training, in Winnipeg or virtually

Your language stays yours

Your community owns its language content and recordings.

We provide the game design and production. Your words are used only for your edition and are never sold to the public without your written permission.

Language isn’t something to extract. It’s something to build a relationship with.

How it works

  1. Conversation. We talk about your dialect, speakers, learners and timeline.
  2. Quote. You receive a clear written quote.
  3. Agreement. We sign an agreement that sets out who owns what. A 50% deposit starts the work.
  4. Your words. Your speakers provide the translations and audio recordings.
  5. Proof. We design your deck, and you approve every card before anything is printed.
  6. Print and deliver. The balance is due before printing, then your decks arrive.

Most editions take 3–4 months from start to finish.
